Experience 4G+ technology today !
4G+ is another name for LTE-A, LTE-Advanced or 4.5G and it's a faster version of 4G. It works through carrier aggregation, which allows 4G phones to receive data from multiple bands in the 4G spectrum. So while standard 4G only uses one band at a time, 4G+ can combine two bands for increased speeds.
To use 4G+ you will need to have a “4G+ Compatible” device as well as a specific sim card called the “4G+ SIM” also called the “USIM” (Universal Sim Card). The fortunate thing is Orange started rolling out this compatible sim card in 2014, years before the launch of the new technology, so most of the Orange base has a compatible sim card.
If your sim card was purchased before 2014, please visit the nearest Orange shop to upgrade your simcard for no additional cost.
Is there coverage everywhere?
Orange Botswana has progressively deployed 4G+ since June 2020. The 4G+ technology is already rolled out in Greater Gaborone and Francistown areas and will be available in most parts of the country in both urban and rural areas. This will allow customers to experience better streaming, faster downloads, quicker browsing as well as quicker sending and receiving of big files.
Where 4G coverage is not available you will experience a seamless connection to 3G+ and 2G.
