The Foundation has supported projects that promote education. Building on this commitment, education & social and professional integration through digital have become our priorities.

The programme aims to provide free educational content in digital format for primary school pupils. This content is stored on a memory card in a low-cost server (Raspberry PI) and can be accessed via a Wi-Fi connection and a browser. Each of the 5 participating schools received a digital kit comprising of 2 servers with pre- loaded content (Maths, Science, English, Literature, etc), 50 tablets, a video projector and an interactive whiteboard as well as headphones.

The Orange Foundation compiled content from copyright free text books and made it available on memory cards with support from the Ministry of Basic Education, and Orange Foundation in Paris. The digital kit will serve as a supplement to what is already being taught in the classroom, and will provide content such as encyclopaedias, dictionaries, works of literature, video-based classes, revision sheets and maps. Orange Foundation has already provided content for upper primary levels, which has been used in the pilot phase of the programme.

Orange Botswana helps usher in a new digital era for Qabo Primary School in Qabo Village, through its Digital Schools Programme. This endowment marks the 75th digital school donation from Orange Botswana through its CSR entity, Orange Foundation to a primary school in the country.

This initiative reflects Orange Botswana’s unwavering commitment to championing innovation, technology and socio-economic progress. Orange Botswana continues to play a pivotal role in advancing education and empowering learners at primary school level. The Digital Schools Programme is an initiative to help bridge the digital divide in remote communities by providing access to modern educational resources and promoting digital inclusion.

One of the Orange Foundation’s missions is to champion innovation and investment as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts. By providing ICT equipment to Qabo Primary School, the Orange Foundation purposes to provide learners with the critical resources and skills needed to enhance their learning experience, excel in their studies, and draw into the vast opportunities and educational enrichment available through digital technology.

The digital school kit donated to Moralane Primary School; includes the following but is not exclusive to;

• 50 tablets
• 50 headsets
• 1 video projector
• 2 Raspberry servers
• 1 JBL speaker
• 1 Laptop
• 8 cases to contain the kit

This week the Orange foundation extended their digital schools programme to Tshokwe Primary school, marking it the 70th school to receive the Orange Digital school kit. Education has been identified by Government as one of the key sectors which should play a pivotal role in the development of a modern, sustainable and knowledge-based economy that supports inclusiveness and diversity. Orange Botswana, as a citizen company, partnered with the Ministry of Education, to implement its transformation agenda for Education, known as ETSSP (Education & Training Sector Strategic Plan).

Orange Foundation is committed to digital equality. We have invested in the digitalization of primary school learning material; which includes 2 raspberry server, 1 projector and projector screen, 1 laptop and 50 tablets loaded with relevant syllabus educational content.

The main objective is to improve access and quality of education in primary schools located in rural areas. This is an affirmation of our commitment as the Orange Foundation towards digital inclusion and educational enrichment for the youth of Botswana.
