Women's Digital Centers

Women Digital Center

The Orange Foundation annually supports initiatives which empower women in difficulty through its program “Women’s Digital Centers” (WDC). The program aims to teach women basic management and entrepreneurial skills and promote digital inclusion by teaching them to use digital tools and basic software. The ultimate goal of this initiative is not only to provide women with education, but also to help them become financially independent.

Humana People to People Organization (HPP) in Ghanzi as well as Project Concern International (PCI) Botswana, were identified as beneficiaries of this programme in Botswana. Orange Foundation donated digital equipment comprising 5 laptops, 10 tablets, 1 printer, projector, multimedia screen, headphones and 200 USB memory sticks to each of the organizations. The equipment will be used to train over 500 disadvantaged women in Ghanzi and Molepolole as well as their surrounding areas.

In addition to the handing over of equipment to the Centres, Orange Foundation runs an Amazing Women Competition which focuses on supporting women who lack financial backing in order to realize their entrepreneurial dreams. More information please visit Orange Foundation website.
