How do I configure internet access on my mobile? (APN Settings)

Are you experiencing mobile internet problems?

If you are a new Orange customer or if you bought your smartphone from a shop other than Orange, your mobile internet connection problems are probably due to the configuration of your APN (Access Point Name).

1/2 To configure internet access on your mobile, follow the below steps:

  1. Go to the Settings menu.
  2. Select "Mobile networks"
  3. Click on "Access Point Name" and create a new APN.
  4. The internet settings are as follows:
    • Name: Orange Internet
    • APN: internet.orange.co.bw
    • Proxy: Not defined
    • Port: Not defined
    • User name:  Not defined
    • Password:  Not defined
    • MMSC: Not defined
    • MMS Proxy: Not defined
    • MMS port: Not defined
    • MCC: 652
    • MNC: 02
    • Authentication type: default
    • APN type: default
    • APN protocol: IPv4
    • APN roaming protocol: IPv4

Once you have entered the settings, save and activate your new internet profile.

You mobile is now ready to surf the web and you can use apps that employ an internet connection.

 

Note:  Access to the settings may vary depending on the brand and model of your mobile, it is also possible that you will be unable to add a new APN.

We suggest you try the following possible solutions:

  • Check your credit balance. Perhaps you have used up all the data volume available on your offer.
  • Check that the mobile data option has been activated on your phone. You can also try deactivating and then reactivating it.
  • Turn your phone off and on again in order to reactivate the automatic settings of your smartphone.
  • Test your SIM card in another device to find out if it is a network or smartphone issue.
