Learning & Development Specialist

The Learning and Development Specialist will be responsible for building organisational capability by designing and delivering impactful learning and development programs that support employee growth, improve performance and align with business goals. In addition, the incumbent will drive a culture of continuous learning across all levels of the business, while also managing strategic initiatives such as the Graduate Trainee Program to build the talent pipeline for future leadership.


Main duties:

  • Conduct training needs assessments in collaboration with business units to identify current and future learning needs. 
  • Design, develop, and deliver internal workshop, change management workshops and lunch and learns.
  • Coordinate and facilitate both in-person and virtual training sessions across all levels of the organization. 
  • Manage the learning management system (LMS), ensuring accurate data, tracking of participation and reporting on learning outcomes. 
  • Support leadership development, onboarding and functional training programs.
  • Evaluate learning programs for effectiveness and recommend improvements based on feedback and performance metrics. 
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to align learning initiatives with organizational goals and performance improvement plans. 
  • Stay up to date with trends in learning technology, adult learning theory, and industry best practices. 
  • Champion a culture of continuous learning and development

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Industrial Psychology or related field.
  • A Master’s degree in a related field would be an added advantage.
  • Trainer of Trainers certification will be an added advantage
  • +5 years of experience in a Learning and Development or Training role, preferably in a corporate environment. 
  • Proven experience in managing graduate, internship or early careers programs is required.
  • Proficiency in LMS platforms and digital learning tools. 
  • Experience with instructional design and content development software is an added advantage.
