Orange Yame malfunctioning?

Orange Yame is now accessible free of charge via the Orange Botswana mobile network or via WiFi. When using mobile internet, you will be identified automatically. When connecting to the app via WiFi, you will need to enter your phone number and an SMS code in order to access your data.

Note: The system retains your data in the memory for 30 days.

This means that every 30 days you must either log on to the Orange Yame app via the 3G/4G network or re-encode an SMS code if you use WiFi.

It is possible that the Orange Yame app will not function correctly with a device that has a dual SIM card as the app uses the Orange mobile network to identify the number of your SIM card.

In most cases, your Orange SIM card will be recognised automatically.

But it is possible that your SIM card must be installed specifically in the first SIM card slot in order to be recognised.

This mainly applies to Android 5.1 and earlier versions.

In a device with dual SIM card, one of the cards is selected (by you or by default) for mobile surfing. If the SIM card selected in your device is not your Orange SIM card, the app cannot recognise you as an Orange customer.

To resolve this problem, go to the Settings function in your device and select your Orange SIM card as active for mobile surfing.

For certain specific models (e.g. Huawei P8/P9) you cannot configure this setting, in which case you must ensure that your Orange SIM card is inserted in the first SIM card slot.
