Signal strength is shown by the signal bar on your phone's screen. The number of bars increases in proportion to signal strength, and reduces if the signal becomes weaker.

To increase signal strength, change your location slightly or move closer to a window if you are in a building.

If the phone is set to Airplane mode or Offline mode, it is quite normal for you not to receive any calls. Change the mode by selecting General or Normal, as described in the user guide.
